Strong young voices make a difference in Diocese
The energy was high as more than 400 students from 24 schools across the Diocese of Parramatta recently attended LIFTED Live Jr at Wests HQ, Rooty Hill. Organised by Catholic Youth Parramatta in collaboration with Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD), the annual LIFTED Live Jr event is a joyful celebration bringing Years 5 and 6 students together through spirituality and song.
Holy Cross Glenwood a shining example when it comes to PBS4L!
Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP) teachers were given the chance to see how the Positive Behaviour Support for Learning (PBS4L) framework is making a difference at Holy Cross Primary Glenwood. The school hosted up to 120 CEDP teachers and staff along with the Executive Director Greg Whitby and Director of Learning Sue Walsh, as they shared their PBS4L journey so far.

Reconciliation ‘More than a Word’ for Catholic schools
Truth-telling was the focus when Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta representatives were Welcomed to Dharug Country during Reconciliation Week. The powerful event held on the site of the Blacktown Native Institute in Oakhurst will have a lasting impact as Catholic schools in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains put Reconciliation into action in 2021.
Voice of Youth celebrates 35 years of showcasing strong student voices
Six Year 6 students selected from across 59 primary schools in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains recently competed in the Diocesan Voice of Youth Public Speaking Competition Grand Final on the 20th of September.
Schools celebrate NAIDOC Week
This week, Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta schools will celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Rescheduled due to COVID-19, NAIDOC Week events include smoking ceremonies, an all-schools dance lesson streamed through Youtube and the virtual Murama Indigenous Youth Summit.
Energy reduction program a winner for schools
In coming months, Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta will complete a comprehensive three-year school Energy Efficiency program that is tipped to reduce carbon emissions by 2,442 tonnes each year.
